should oil enter the fly wheel and stator casing in a ATV 200cc quad?

    Japanese motorcycles have oil in the flywheel cover to lubricate the starter clutch.
    China copies Japanese designed machines – so it’s probably normal with yours.
    By 2003, most vehicles use electronic ignition and the timing is not adjustable.
    Backfiring through the carb would be a problem with the intake valve.
    If the adjustment was tight, the valve would leak – when the ignition fires, it would blow back through the intake.
    Try adjusting the valves.

    I agree with guardrail jim. In addition, don’t forget to check for vacuum leaks between the carb and cylinderhead or any vacuum hoses.
